Habitat Restoration Work Party at California Creek
Saturday, November 16th from 9:00 AM- Noon
1055 H Street, Blaine, WA 98230
The California Creek Estuary is situated along Drayton Harbor Road at the mouth of California Creek and consists of shoreline, estuary, open field and forested habitat. Restoration work began with the demolition of two outbuildings and the removal of a mountain of blackberry and scotch broom. Now, it is your turn to join Whatcom CD, NSEA, and the Whatcom Land Trust to continue replanting the area with native vegetation and improve habitat and water quality! Parking and a shuttle to the site are available at 1055 H Street, Blaine, WA 98230. Look for the blue NSEA tents to sign in!
We’ll bring the tools and gloves – all you have to do is wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Snacks courtesy of The Bagelry and the Community Food Co-Op. Coffee provided thanks to NSEA’s official coffee sponsor, Tony’s Coffee.
Bring your friends, family and enthusiasm, and we’ll see you at the creek! All ages are welcome. Volunteers under 18 years old must bring a Youth Liability Release Form. Minors under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
