A suitable candidate will need to work both in the field under varying weather conditions and in the office. Work may be solitary in remote outdoor locations. A flexible schedule during the week is required, depending upon job demands; nighttime and/or weekend availability may be required.

WWU Student raises money to support restoration in Whatcom County
Submitted by EHirsch on Thu, 03/29/2012 - 14:44Devin Mounts of the Huxley Student Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) held a fundraiser this year to raise money to benefit local restoration projects. The project was a way to connect the club with the local community. Through his efforts over $500 was collected and used to purchase 253 plants to be donated to the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association. The mail-in ballots have not been counted yet. The next available date that allows all mail-in ballots postmarked on the March 13th to be received by the district and polling officers are available is March 20th. This is when the mail-in ballots will be counted.

The WSU Whatcom County Master Gardener program is offering gardening workshops taught by local experts, starting March 4 through August 26
at Tennant Lake Interpretive Center and Hovander Homestead Park in Ferndale.
They are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
