Farm Assistance
Resource Conservation Planning for Farms Large and Small
Adopting best management practices will minimize the impacts of livestock operations on soil and water resources.
Today more than ever farmers need to farm more intelligently, more economically, and in greater harmony with the environment. Wise planning and management reduce costs and protects our soil and water resources against degradation. The Whatcom Conservation District provides technical assistance to farmers and landowners who seek out ways to minimize the impacts of livestock operations on soil and water resources. Financial assistance may be available for some conservation practices. Please see the "Programs" section below. The WCD also participates in a variety of educational programs. We work in cooperation with teachers, landowners and local non-profit groups on conservation, restoration and education projects throughout the year.
